Man stabs pregnant wife to death
A man in Georgia has been charged with murder for stabbing his pregnant wife to death.
Elvin Durant, 57, was charged with malice murder along with other counts after allegedly killing his wife Crystal Durant, 38, following an altercation.
Investigators believe the child was his, they said. He was also charged with a count of feticide – the voluntary manslaughter of an unborn child.
He allegedly stabbed his wife ‘several times’ with a black folding knife in the head and back of the neck, according to a warrant, about 2.20 am on August 25 at a Wood Meadows Drive home.
Crystal’s cousin, Lula Battle said Crystal had six children, including young twins.
Jakeem Battle, Crystal Durant’s son, was stabbed once in the leg.
Battle, who has a different father, was transported to the hospital with injuries but is expected to survive, O’Hara said.
Investigators believe Battle tried to stop Elvin Durant from stabbing his mother when Durant allegedly turned the black folding knife on him.
