Manchester United set to battle Juventus for Ronaldo
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Manchester United have reportedly been given the chance to match Juventus’s offer for Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reports in the Spanish press emerged this week suggesting that the Portugal international is on his way to Juve in a £106m deal.
The 33-year-old, who has scored 450 goals in 438 games for European champions Madrid, will supposedly be paid wages of £500,000 a week in the Italian capital.
In a potential twist, however, The Sun reports that United could yet table an identical bid of their own, giving the five-time Ballon d’Or winner a chance to return to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo is said to have grown disillusioned at the Bernabeu after nine years with the club, offering his biggest hint yet after May’s Champions League success that he will move on this summer.
