Mike Igini quits INEC, reveals assassination attempts
The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Akwa Ibom State, Mike igini, has ended his two tenure and is on his way out.
Igini at a farewell event in Uyo, revealed that there was an assassination attempt on him by the political class in Akwa Ibom State who made several attempts to scuttle the 2019 general elections in the state.
Igini was Resident Electoral Commissioner in Cross River State, Edo State, and later Akwa Ibom State.
Igini cautioned against frequent redeployment of heads of security agencies, police commissioners essentially, within six months of general elections in Nigeria, noting that it may affect the process to achieve credible elections in 2023.
