Missing 63 card readers: CUPP, IPAC demand redeployment of INEC REC in Bayelsa

The Coalition of United Political Parties and the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria in Bayelsa State have demanded the immediate redeployment of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner. REC, in the state.
The Coalition protested that the REC cannot be trusted with conduct of elections in the state after he admitted that 63 Card Readers sent to Nembe, Sagbama and Southern Ijaw are still missing after the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The Coalition of United Political Parties and the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria are, therefore, demanding the immediate redeployment of the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bayelsa State if elections are to be free and fair in the state. It was noted that the admittance of the missing 63 card readers after the first set of elections precipitates loss of confidence in the REC.
At a meeting with political parties and representatives of various security agencies, the Resident Electoral Commissioner informed the gathering of missing Card Readers in some parts of Bayelsa.
The Coalition of United Political Parties, therefore, expressed concerns over the theft of Card Readers in the affected areas.
The Inter Party Advisory Council in Bayelsa State also expressed loss of trust on the REC to conduct further elections in the State
