N45,000 laptop fetches women 180 days imprisonment
For having the boldness to steal a laptop valued at N45,000, a 35-year-old woman, Nafisat Raji, was on Wednesday convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment in Osogbo, Osun State.
The convicted who stole the HP laptop had appeared before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the offence.
However, the counsel, Mr Najite Okobie, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the convict since she had pleaded guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, who sentenced Raji, however, gave her the option to pay a fine of N3, 000.
