New UNIBEN VC Omoregie inspects student hostels, vows to improve facilities
Prof. Edoba Omoregie, the newly inaugurated Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, conducted an inspection of student hostels on Tuesday, just 24 hours after assuming office.
The inspection covered Hall I, II, III, NDDC, and Clinical hostels, where Prof. Omoregie was met with applause from the students.
Speaking to journalists after the tour, Prof. Omoregie expressed concern over the state of the hostels, describing many of them as “unacceptable” and in dire need of renovation.
He acknowledged that significant work was required to improve the living conditions and make the hostels more comfortable and habitable for students.
“As a former student of the University, I am duty-bound to make a difference in the wellbeing of the students,” Prof. Omoregie said, emphasizing his commitment to improving the quality of student life at the institution.
