NFF appoints Bruno Labbadia as new Super Eagles Head Coach
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of German coach Bruno Labbadia as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s Senior Men’s National Team.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, announced on Tuesday that the NFF Executive Committee approved the recommendation from its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for Labbadia’s appointment, which takes effect immediately.

Born in Darmstadt, Germany, on February 8, 1966, Labbadia brings a wealth of experience to the role, having played for several top German clubs and coached teams like Hertha Berlin, VfB Stuttgart, and VfL Wolfsburg.
He is the sixth German to lead the Super Eagles, following in the footsteps of notable predecessors like Berti Vogts and Gernot Rohr.
Labbadia’s first challenge will be to guide the Super Eagles in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic on September 7 and Rwanda on September 10.
