Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya defeats Whittaker to retain UFC middleweight belt
Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya on Saturday night defeated Robert Whittaker with a unanimous decision of 48-47, 48-47, 49-46 in the UFC 271 title fight at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. The fight was so close that spectators thought Whittaker had the day and would have been declared the rightful winner, the spectators, thus, expressed disagreement with the decision of the judges.
Adesanya utilized his experience to counter every move of his opponent in the fight to secure a second win against Whittaker at the Toyota Center. He remains number One in the UFC Middleweight category in the world.
