Nigeria’s statistician-general is dead
The statistician-general of the federation is dead.
Dr. Simon Harry was rushed to the hospital on Saturday and was responding to treatment but he died on Wednesday morning.
According to the NBS Director, Corporate Communications and Public Relations at the NBS, Mr. Sunday Ichedi, it is confirmed the statistician general is dead.
Ichedi would not say more than that. But there was a rumor earlier about his death, but the bureau dismissed it.
President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Harry, a director of corporate planning and technical coordination at the Bureau, in August 2021 when Dr. Yemi Kale’s tenure expired.
