Obaseki enjoins journalists to adhere to professional ethics
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State at the fourth convocation ceremony of Edo State University, Uzairue, enjoined Nigerian journalists to ensure that the ethics of the profession are being upheld in performing their critical duty in information dissemination.
At the fourth convocation ceremony of the Edo State University Uzairue held at the School’s Aliko Dangote Auditorium, the Visitor of the university, Governor Godwin Obaseki, addressed graduands and dignitaries at the event, expressing his view on the convocation lecture delivered by a former Director General of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Dr. Tonnie Iredia, on fake news: rethinking the role of mainstream and social media in national development.
The governor offered automatic employment for graduating students who distinguished themselves in their academic pursuits. He assured that the State Government will continue to prioritise education in Edo.
