Obi mocks Tinubu for addressing NBA through proxy
The LP presidential candidate Peter Obi has asked Nigerian voters to insist on meting their presidential candidate—not proxies.
A statement by his media adviser, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, quoted Obi as saying this while addressing people that came to welcome him to Germany on Friday.
“Listen to all the presidential candidates not through proxy. Let anyone who wants to be your President come forward himself and speak to you directly, because he is the one you will hold responsible for whatever happens to Nigeria under his care,’ he said.
“This campaign is not a campaign you are going to speak through somebody, that person needs to come and directly tell us what he is going to do for our country and we must take note of whatever he says and hold him to his words.
“We also don’t want somebody that would be carried to this place in a wheelchair, but must consider his capacity, competence, integrity and commitment.”
APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu delegated his running mate Kashima Shettima to speak alongside PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi during the last NBA conference in Lagos.
The APC national leader is considered to be in not-so-good health, though he has recovered from a kneecap surgery he had in London last year.
