Ogun Police nab father, five others over alleged sexual abuse of daughter

A 49-year-old man, identified as Amoda Bola, has been arrested alongside five other suspects over the alleged sexual abuse of his 14-year-old daughter in Ode Remo, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The suspects reportedly include Ahmed Ogunkoya, Muyiwa Adeoye, David Sunday, Emmanuel Olusanya and Joshua Olaniran.

According to allegations surrounding the case, Bola allegedly subjected his teenage daughter to repeated sexual abuse over a period of several months, resulting in her becoming pregnant.

The case has drawn widespread outrage because of the alleged involvement of other men whom the girl’s father reportedly invited to sexually abuse her.

It was further alleged that Bola collected money from some of the men in exchange for access to his daughter.

The alleged offences reportedly occurred around Idi Oro Street in Ode Remo, where the teenager was said to have been subjected to the abuse.

The circumstances of the case have raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of children to sexual violence, particularly when the alleged perpetrator is someone entrusted with their care and protection.

Child protection advocates have consistently warned that sexual abuse can have devastating physical and psychological consequences for victims, while teenage pregnancy resulting from abuse can expose victims to additional health, social and educational challenges.
