Ogunjobi to Chair Jury as The Industry Awards 2025 Announces Judging Panel
The Industry Newspaper, West Africa’s leading brand marketing publication and the convener of the highly regarded Industry Summit/Awards, has officially unveiled the panel of judges for the sixth edition of the annual Industry Awards.
The event, set to take place in Lagos, continues to uphold its reputation as one of the most credible and coveted recognitions within the West African brand and marketing ecosystem.
Renowned broadcast journalist and Business Editor at TVC News, Mr. Tolulope Ogunjobi, has been announced as the Chairman of the 2025 Industry Awards jury.
A respected figure in media and business journalism, Ogunjobi is expected to bring a high level of professionalism, credibility, and impartiality to the judging process.
Joining Mr. Ogunjobi on the jury are a host of respected industry professionals, including: Raheem Akingbolu, Senior Correspondent, ThisDay Newspaper; Afolabi Idowu, Marketing Correspondent, The Nation; Melvin Udosen, Publisher, Brandessence Magazine; Adedayo Odulaja, Secretary, Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN); Daniel Obi, Media Business Editor, BusinessDay Newspaper and Chairman, BJAN.
In a statement released to the press, the organisers revealed that the shortlist of nominees was carefully curated by the editorial team of The Industry Newspaper, based on individual and brand performance in 2024.
The jury is tasked with evaluating nominees using clear metrics that highlight innovation, leadership, impact, and relevance within the marketing, advertising, and business communications landscape.
The 2025 edition of the Industry Awards will feature a broad range of categories designed to recognize individuals and institutions across various levels of brand influence and performance.

These include: Governor of the Year; CEO of the Year; Doyen of Advertising in Africa; Most Effective Public Communication; Business Personality of the Year; Green Energy Champion; Young Advertising Person in Africa and Women in Advertising
Others fall under the Champions, Pathfinders, Practitioners, Future Leaders, Brands/Products, and Service categories, reflecting the diversity and depth of the brand marketing profession.
Speaking on the appointment of Ogunjobi as Jury Chairman, Goddie Ofose, Publisher of The Industry Newspaper and convener of the Summit/Awards, expressed confidence in the jury’s ability to maintain the award’s longstanding integrity.
“This jury, led by Mr. Ogunjobi, is very motivated to select the best. The winners will be truly deserving,” Ofose said. “Ogunjobi’s experience and expertise, coupled with the outstanding credentials of the other jury members, suggest that the selection process will emphasize credibility, accuracy, and fairness.”
Summit Theme: Navigating Shifting Consumer Trends in FMCG
The awards will coincide with the 2025 edition of The Industry Summit, themed: “Understanding Changing Consumer Preferences in Troubled FMCG’s Space.”
This timely theme reflects the current market dynamics and the need for innovative strategies to address challenges in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The two-day event will commence with a lecture session on Friday, May 2, 2025, followed by the gala dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
With the stage set for this year’s Industry Summit/Awards, stakeholders in the brand, marketing, media, and advertising industries are gearing up for what promises to be an insightful and impactful gathering of thought leaders and trailblazers.
