OOU commences strike
Olabisi Onabanjo University’s Academic Staff Union, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has commenced an indefinite strike action over the non fulfilment of promises by the state government, entrenched in a Memorandum of Understanding it signed with the union in December 2015.
The Union chairman, Deji Agboola, while addressing group of journalists at the end of its congress, said the strike action is necessitated by inability of the university management to pay staff salaries, the government’s failure to honour the 70:30 ratio contributions by government and OOU in salary payment.
