Oyo Mesi finally picks new Alaafin
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is set to announce Prince Lukman Adelodun Gbadegesin as the new Alaafin-elect any moment one year after the demise of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
Prince Lukman, according to inside sources, Prince Gbadegesin is said to have been chosen by the Oyo Mesi among the PRINCES who presented themselves for the selection to the vacant stool of Alaafin.
Gbadegesin hails from the Gbadegesin family of the Agunloye Ruling House.

He is a grandchild of Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II, the predecessor of Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi III.
Gbadegesin was a former Personal Assistant to Alhaji Aruna Elewi, a Minister of State for Communication during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
He is an associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is also the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections.
