PDP National Convention: Oyinlola congratulates Arapaja, Dep National Chairman, South
Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State on Sunday congratulated the new Deputy National Chairman, South, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), elected at the party’s convention in Abuja.
Oyinlola in a statement on Sunday, congratulated Taofik Arapaja, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, who contested the position of the PDP Deputy National Chairman, South, with him at the national convention.
Oyinlola disclosed that he had sent a private message to Arapaja congratulating him on his victory and wishing him a successful tenure. The former governor added that the new PDP Deputy National Chairman South acknowledged his message with appreciation. He promised to deepen his support for the PDP.
Oyinlola expressed optimism that the party is in very good hands, noting that the success of the PDP national convention is a good omen for Nigeria and Nigerians.
The former governor commended the PDP founding fathers, all party leaders, and his supporters for the strength of their support given to him and their love they showed him throughout the contest for the deputy national chairman.
Oyinlola also commended the PDP Governors Forum for being steadfast in ensuring the unity of the party. He promised to sustain his role as a leader, including to strengthen his support for the PDP and its organs.
The former governor did not consider his defeat by Arapaja as a loss but as a process that has made the PDP stronger and more democratic.
