PDP schedules National Convention Oct 30-31
- Secondus absent from Caucus meeting
The National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its meeting Friday afternoon scheduled the conduct of an emergency National Convention for October 30-31.
Party members would be electing members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the National Convention. The National Convention is the highest decision making organ of the party where members of the National Working Committee are elected, including the party’s presidential candidate. The October National Convention would end the four-year tenure of Uche Secondus.
The National Convention was scheduled to hold in December but is being rescheduled to October amidst the clamour for the resignation of Secondus and other NWC members.
Though Secondus resumed duty on Friday, he was absent at the Caucus meeting.
