A human rights lawyer, Pelumi Jacob Olajengbesi who is the Principal Officer of Law Corridor, an Abuja-based law firm has reacted to Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent statement against the People’s Democratic Party, the Labour Party and other seemingly small parties.

Recall that on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, the former governor of Lagos State and APC presidential candidate said that supporters of the People’s Democratic Party, the Labour Party, and other ostensibly smaller parties will “labor until they die.”
At rally in Osun State in support of their governor candidate in the upcoming election on July 16, Tinubu made this declaration.
Speaking further, the human rights lawyer described the statement as being uncharitable,  which is uncharacteristic of national leader of the All Progressives Congress, let alone presidential contender.
He said that if Tinubu were to win the presidency, it might be the end of the opposition parties.
He added that Tinubu’s utterance is tantamount to voter’s intimation, urging the former Governor of Lagos State to apologise for the statement which he said is indecent, adding that Nigeria is not in autocracy, but in a democracy where every electorate should be allowed to vote for their choice of candidate freely.
