Following the persistent insecurity in Mangu Local Government Area of the State, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has imposed a 24 hour curfew in the community.

The Governor took the decision after due consultation with relevant security agencies.

A statement by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere informed that only persons on essential duties are allowed to move within the local government until further notice.

The Governor urged all citizens, especially residents of Mangu, to comply with the directive and assist the security personnel by providing reliable information to restore peace and order in the area.

“Some people are still determined to create an atmosphere of insecurity in the State, despite the government’s efforts to end the activities of terrorist elements”, Mutfwang laments.

Promising to review the curfew as soon as the situation improves, the Governor also sympathized with the families of the victims assuring them a speedy justice.
