Police dispel fears over explosion in Maiduguri
The Nigeria Police have dispelled fears among residents over the explosion in Maiduguri on Saturday as the elections were taking off. The Police explained to the people that the explosion they heard was a show of force and demonstration of the combatant readiness of the Police to ensure security in the capital city of Borno State.
There was explosion near the airport in Maiduguri on Saturday morning as voters were preparing to leave their residents for their polling units. The explosion sent panic and fear into the people. But the Police assured that there is no cause for alarm.
