Police parades gun manufacturers, kidnap kingpin in Benue

Benue State Police Command has paraded an illegal gun manufacturing specialists, robbery suspects and kidnappers arrested in last six weeks.
Briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters on Thursday yesterday in Makurdi, the Commissioner of Police, Dibai Yakadi maintained that he is committed to reducing the rate of crime in the state.
Yakadi gave the names of the gun manufacturers as Mr. Samuel Orne, Liambe Waya and Aondohemba Ahungwaor who are all from Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area and were arrested by Police surveillance from Vandeikya in Vandeikya local government area of the state with two loaded Barrett pistols adding that the suspect had since confessed to being a gun manufacturer.
He revealed that the armed robbery suspects arrested within the said period include, Mr. Msugh Joshua alias pastor and Vergh Kor of Ushongo town, Ushongo local government area who were found with one locally made pistols and live cartridges with ammunitions.
According to the CP, the leaders of the gang of suspected kidnappers Mr. Wilfred Igbadio, Tarzan Ajiir, Monday Yorgongbi and Sunday Iortyange were arrested alongside with AK47, one locally made Barrett’s pistol with two rounds and one Automatic Pump action while trying to escape with their victim at Naka in Gwer local government area of the state.
The CP disclosed that all the suspects will be charged to court in the interest of justices and fear hearing, assuring that the command would do everything possible to make Benue state peaceful, secured and safe.
