Police reveal arrest of suspects over murder of Funke, Fasoranti’s daughter

The Nigeria Police have revealed the arrest of some suspects over the murder of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, Afenifere leader, last Friday in Ondo State.

National Daily learned that the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, confirmed the arrest on Monday.

The PPRO was said to have explained that the suspects were arrested in search operations when a team of security operatives stormed the forests near Ore in Ondo State. He did not reveal the identities of the arrested suspects.

The PPRO noted that investigations are still ongoing, adding that the suspects would be paraded as soon as possible.

Mrs. Funke  Olakunrin was murdered last Friday at Ore on her way to Lagos from Akure.

National Daily recalls that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had ordered immediate deployment of special tasks forces for search operations and apprehension of the suspects.

Accordingly, IG Adamu directed the deployment of a team of security operatives from the Force Headquarters in Ondo to work with State Police Command to ensure that Olakunrin’s killers were arrested and brought to book.

National Dailygathered that the Units deployed to the state include the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), and the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU).
