Premiere Academy students emerge top winners at Abuja National Music Competition
Students of Premiere Academy recorded a remarkable outing at the sixth edition of the Abuja National Music Competition, with two of its representatives emerging overall winners in their respective categories.
The competition, which drew participants from schools across the Federal Capital Territory and other states, featured vocal and instrumental performances aimed at showcasing young musical talent.

At the end of the event, Jaja Soibifaa was named the overall winner in the Vocal Category, while Iwugo Michael clinched the top prize in the Piano Category. Both students received cash prizes of ₦250,000 each for their achievements.
The Abuja National Music Competition is designed to encourage creativity among students aged six to 18 and promote music education by identifying and celebrating exceptional vocalists and instrumentalists from primary and secondary schools nationwide.
Organisers stated that the competition seeks to revive and preserve the richness of Nigerian music while providing young talents with opportunities for mentorship, performance, and professional development.
Beyond the prizes, participants had the opportunity to perform before a panel of experienced music professionals, receive expert feedback, and gain exposure that could aid their artistic growth.
Reacting to the achievement, Premiere Academy’s Music Instructor and team leader, Mr. Israel Olorundare, praised the students for their outstanding performances, noting that the results reflect the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and excellence in the arts.
He also expressed appreciation to the school’s management and staff for their support, guidance, and dedication, which he said contributed significantly to the students’ success at the competition.
The victories further reinforce Premiere Academy’s reputation for excellence in extracurricular activities and the performing arts.
