Presidency 2023: Obi appoints Prof. Charles Okigbo spokesman of Presidential Campaign Org
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has appointed Professor Charles Okigbo spokesperson of the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation. The professor will be handling the communications and image management of the Obi/Datti campaign.
Charles Okigbo is professor emeritus of strategic communication at North Dakota State University (USA). At the university, he did research on media coverage of elections, strategic fundraising in higher education, and the processes for leadership development and social change.
Professor Okigbo was Registrar of the APCON, Vice President of ORBICOM, The UNESCO Think Tank at the University of Quebec, Montréal, Canada, and the Executive Coordinator of the African Council for Communication Education
(ACCE) at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
Okigbo was a lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; University of Lagos, Daystar University, Nairobi, and the University of Nairobi. He has been consultant and temporary adviser to UNAIDS, UNICEF, UNESCO, WHO, Ford Foundation, and Friedrich
Ebert Stiftung.
The Labour Party was optimistic that #NigeriaDeservesBetter.
