Presidency 2023: Uncertainty persists in APC, official announcement of Tinubu’s running mate postponed
There are indications on Thursday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may be contending with the issue of uncertainty over the controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket of the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and former Governor Kashim Shetima of Borno State, leading to the postponement of the official announcement of Shettima as the APC vice presidential candidate to Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.
APC leaders had scheduled to present Shetima to party stakeholders and formally announce his vice presidential candidacy at the APC national secretariat, Abuja, on Thursday. Chairman of the APC Press Corp on Thursday morning notified media representatives at the secretariat that the official announcement has been postponed. The APC media coordinator was not certain of the new date but said the party will announce a new date probably next week.
The Press Corp chairman revealed that APC Deputy National Secretary issued the directive for the postponement of the presentation of Tinubu’s running mate to party stakeholders.
