Protesters storm streets of Benin City, detesting rising cost of living
A group, the Peoples Alternative Movement, on Friday led mass protest in Benin City, Edo State, detesting the rising cost of living in the state, including insecurity.
The Peoples Alternative Movement led by a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, Osagie Obayuwana, assembled at the popular Oba Ovonramwen Square in Benin in the early of Friday, where they demanded the Nigerian leaders to address the crisis of poverty and insecurity in Nigeria. The protesters also warned the Nigerian government against increasing the pump price of petrol.
