PSG Vs Man United: 12 lessons
All eyes were on Parc des Princes this week, when Paris Saint-Germain welcomed Manchester United, in the Champions League round of 16-second leg.
The Ligue 1 champions won the first leg at Old Trafford 2-0.
With talisman Paul Pogba suspended for this game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his team has enough to progress away from home.
The match which kicked off 9 pm West African time favored the travellers.
Manchester United XI vs PSG: De Gea, Young, Bailly, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Pereira, Rashford, Lukaku
PSG XI vs Manchester United: Buffon, Kehrer, Thiago Silva, Kimpembe, Bernat, Verratti, Marquinhos, Dani Alves, Draxler, Di María, Mbappe
Here are the twelve things we learnt from the match:
12 things we learnt…
1. Mbappe is nothing close to Messi. At his age Messi was already the established god of football.
2. Mbappe had a terrible game from start to finish and it’s even a double shame that PSG coaching staff had no answer to that. Did they even notice?
3. Ole and his boys are becoming special.
4. Madrid is out, PSG is out…this could be great news for the remaining big boys.
5. PSG is cursed.
6. PSG lost this game. How can a team of attackers suddenly start playing negative football. They played like they didn’t know they would be out if Man United had just one more goal.
7. Di Maria is ineffectively good. You don’t need such people in your team. It’s tiime Dani Alves retires.
8. So Cavani could play and he was benched? Could the owners of PSG actually be the proble? Cos you know you would be sacked if Suarez could play and he is on the bench.
9. What’s the point buying Neymar with such a huge money and not see him in the colors of your shirt in the Semi Finals. Not even in the quarter finals?
10. Fred and Matic held their grounds in the midfield.
11. Lukaku is a 9. No matter what the impatient Man United fans say. He is worth it.
12. It’s a shame that the take home heroics for the PSG camera is the fashion sense of Neymar. Again, a club has spent wrongly. And we see again that buying expensive player is less impressive than having a compact team.
