Rain storm destroys over 100 houses in Katsina

Heavy rain storm that lasted for hours destroyed over 100 houses in Kaita town of Kaita Local government Area, Katsina State, on Sunday night.
National Daily gathered that over 2,000 people were indicated to be rendered homeless following the heavy down pour.

National Daily also gathered that the Head of the local government, Hajiya Umma Abdullahi Mahuta, called on the government to come to the aid of the people who were rendered homeless from the incidence.
The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Aminu Waziri Garuba, was among the inspection team that visited the area and attributed the incidence to negligence by residents in the community who allowed a situation where there is blockage in their drainages.
