Rufai Oseni reacts as Sen. Adeyemi opposes Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket
A leading Nigerian journalist, Rufai Oseni, has reacted to the news of APC chieftain, Smart Adeyemi, kicking against the Muslim-Muslim ticket of his party. Speaking on VOP, Rufai emphasised the implications of Adeyemi’s opposition to the ticket.
Addressing the topic, Rufai said, “Sen. Smart Adeyemi is an APC leader who is close to the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, another top APC stalwart. I will go against a Christian-Christian ticket with the last ounce of breath in me as I understand the importance of religious balance in Nigeria. I understand the politicization of everything across the line. Everything has been quite politicized, and even Christian denominations are at loggerheads. They have said that religion does not matter based on the alter of competence, but that is not logical. The APC will have to defend its decision at the polls.
He continued, “Whether it works for them or not depends on Nigerians. However, in terms of public discussion, the logical argument shows that the ticket does not hold water.
You may have heard that Sen. Adeyemi Smart recently spoke against the Muslim-Muslim ticket. The lawmaker went as far as encouraging a ban on the same faith ticket.
