A journalist, Oseni Rufai, has said that those set of people who are comparing President Bola Tinubu’s large convoy during his visit to Lagos State and the convoy of Peter Obi during the presidential campaign are just arguing without facts.

According to Oseni Rufai, the difference between the two instances is that Bola Tinubu is the president of Nigeria and the financial status of the country demands that government officials should cut down on cost of governance.

Oseni Rufai went on to say that Peter Obi’s convoy which was captured in a video was the convoy he used during campaign and as such, he was not using public funds to finance the cost of such a long convoy.

Oseni Rufai also disclosed that in the Peter Obi convoy video, it could be seen that some of the cars that was with his convoy were ordinary cars of his supporters and that was the reason the convoy was long.

It is important to note that Oseni Rufai said that the long convoy that was seen during Bola Tinubu’s visit to Lagos State did not belong to president Bola Tinubu alone. However, Oseni Rufai maintained that most of the cars belonged to serving government officials and the largeness of the convoy points to the need to reduce cost of governance.
