Senate begins 8 weeks recess, adjourns plenary to Sept 24
The Senate on Tuesday commenced eight weeks’ recess, adjourning plenary to September 24 after the screening and confirmation of the 43 ministerial nominees submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate had amended its rule to suspend the annual two months recess on receiving the list of ministerial nominees from President Buhari.
National Dailylearned that Senate President Ahmed Lawan made the announcement on Tuesday. The lawmakers are to reconvene on September 24.
Before the adjournment, the senators went on a 30 minutes break to enable them adopt the votes and proceedings if the day, which they did on resumption from the break.
