Shehu Sani seeks NASS investigation of $2bn used to reinforce Naira, N3.8trn FG CBN’s Ways & Means
Senator Shehu Sani is seeking the two chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly to investigate claims that $2 billion was pulled out from the foreign reserves to reinforce the Naira in the FX market, including another claim that the federal government took a loan of N3.8 trillion from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as Ways and Means in six months.
Sani noted that the federal government denied both claims. He accordingly, declared that only the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Banking and Finance can clear the air and should do so.
According to Shehu Sani, @ShehuSani
“First,there was a claim that $2 Billion of our foreign reserve was used to reinforce the Naira.
“Then there is a claim that FG borrowed N3.8 trillion from the CBN ways & means in 6 months;
“Both claims were denied by the FG.
