Shekarau dumps NNPP, defects to PDP
The former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dumping the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), after falling out Engr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, former Kano governor and NNPP presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

In Kano to receive Shekarau into the PDP were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate,the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, PDP vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, former Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, and others. Atiku had in a tweet announced his arrival in Kano, writing: Atiku Abubakar @atiku “I just touched down at the Centre of Commerce, Kano State. The next few days are set to be very productive.” -AA
