Suspected kidnapper arrested in Ogun wearing allegedly stolen military uniform
A suspected kidnapper identified as Wasiu Oloyede has been arrested by security operatives in Ogun State after he was allegedly found wearing a military uniform reportedly stolen from a soldier who had been abducted days earlier.
According to reports, the suspect and members of his gang allegedly kidnapped a serving soldier on Friday in the Alagbado area of Lagos State and took him to their hideout, where they reportedly stripped him of his military uniform and dispossessed him of his identification card, ATM cards and mobile phone.
The soldier was, however, said to have escaped from captivity, although the suspects allegedly retained his personal belongings.

Security sources said Oloyede was apprehended on Sunday in the Odo Pako area of Ota, Ogun State, after he allegedly appeared in public wearing the soldier’s oversized military uniform.
The suspect reportedly attracted attention while allegedly attempting to use the military attire to intimidate residents and security personnel.
According to eyewitness accounts, Oloyede allegedly attempted to snatch a Dane gun from a member of a local vigilante group while dressed in the army uniform. His actions reportedly prompted an immediate response from the vigilante operative and other security personnel, leading to his arrest.
The suspect was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.
Authorities are expected to intensify efforts to track down other members of the alleged kidnapping gang believed to have participated in the abduction of the soldier.
Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident or confirm whether the stolen military uniform and the soldier’s personal belongings have been recovered.
The case remains under investigation as law enforcement authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and identify other suspects linked to the criminal operation.
