Suspension of electioneering campaigns still in force – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has notified the various political parties in the country that the suspension of electioneering campaigns is still in force, warning that it is not yet time for campaigns.
INEC National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, at a capacity building workshop for Heads of Voter Education, Publicity and Public Affairs Officers of the Commission, cautioned that it may sanction any political party involved in early campaign before the INEC timetable for 2023 general elections is out.
Participants at the capacity building workshop were selected from the 19 states in Northern Nigeria and the Federal capital Territory, Abuja.
The commission, therefore, admonished political parties to refrain from public campaigns till the timetable for the 2023 general elections is out.
