Sylva wins APC primary governorship election in Bayelsa
Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, also former Minister of State for Petroleum, on Saturday won the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerged the governorship candidate of the party for the November 11 election Bayelsa State.
Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee for the governorship primary in Bayelsa State, Major General Ahmed Jubrin, announcing the result of the direct primary conducted in the 105 wards of the state, at APC State Secretariat in Yenagoa, declared that Sylva had 52,061 votes, while Joshua MacIver had 2,078 votes to trail second. There were six aspirants in the race.
Two aspirants, Macvier and Professor Ongoebu Etebu accepted the results without delay, congratulated Sylva on his victory, as they pledged their support for his candidacy.
