Three die in multiple vehicle crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
At least three people lost their lives in a fatal road accident involving multiple vehicles on the Kara section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday evening.
The accident occurred around 7 pm when a truck carrying sugar lost control, triggering a chain reaction that involved several other vehicles, including a Toyota Camry, an Isuzu mini truck, and a Honda Accord.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing several injured victims being rushed to the hospital, while the truck driver fled the scene.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that three people, including two women and a man, died at the scene. Several others were injured and taken to a hospital in Lagos for treatment.

The Lagos State Fire Service was deployed to the scene to extinguish a fire that erupted following the collision.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
The police are currently investigating the incident and are on the lookout for the fleeing truck driver.
This latest tragedy highlights the persistent dangers faced by motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
