Tinubu appoints committee on minimum wage
President Bola Tinubu has appointed a committee on new minimum wage for Nigerian workers. The 37-man tripartite committee was announced on Sunday with the mandate to work out ways for the implementation of the new minimum wage.
The committee is headed by a former Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Bukar Aji.
Membership of the committee include six governors, namely, Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State, representing the North Central; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, representing the North-East; Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, representing the North-West; Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, representing the South-East; Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, representing the South-West; and Governor Otu Bassey of Cross River State, representing the South-South.
Other members include the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. (Mrs) Yemi Esan; among others.
