A renowned female activist, Aisha Yesufu, has taken a swipe at the defenders of President Bola Tinubu on the raging controversies over the deposition of the Chicago State University, USA, on the education document of the President as a student of the university many years ago.

A major bone of contention in the public court over the CSU deposition has been the diploma certificate.

Aisha Yesufu, adding her voice to the debate in the public court, asserted that

“Tinubu at Chatham House said he got his replacement certificate from CSU not third party vendor.”

Apparently, a video of President Tinubu has gone viral where the president during that 2023 electioneering campaign announced at the Chatham House, United Kingdom (U.K.), that “the Chicago State University has replaced his certificate”, [which was proclaimed lost].

In the deposition of the CSU, the Registrar denied knowledge of the production of the diploma certificate presented to INEC by the president.

There has been arguments third party vendor could repalce lost certificates in the U.S.

Aisha Yesufu, however, insisted that President Tinuubu declared at the Chatham House that teh CSU replaced his certificate, noting that the President did not credit the source of the repalced certificate to third party vendor.

Meanwhile, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, registered his participation in the public court of the open society, where the President has been going through unconventional trial.

Garba stated that “President Tinubu did attend the CSU, passed with distinction, and was confirmed by the CSU, themselves.”
He expressed disgust against the rising opposition.

Garba, in a statement, declared:

@adamugarba

“President Tinubu did attend the CSU, passed with distinction, and was confirmed by the CSU themselves. I don’t understand what the opposition truly wants by creating their own process which directly went against the law.

“Tinubu is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“If you disagree, go through the normal procedure, not to create a court of public opinion. Follow the rules of Electoral Act 2022 as amended.”
A spokesperson of Tinubu during the campaign, Bayo Onanuga, has insisted that “Chicago State University provided a diploma to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and subsequently provided a certified (or official) copy of that diploma.

He maintianed that “Both are valid and authentic diplomas of Chicago State University.”
He cautioned that people should not be deceived by the propaganda in the social media space.

According to Onanuga,

“Chicago State University provided a diploma to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and subsequently provided a certified (or official) copy of that diploma.

“Both are valid and authentic diplomas of Chicago State University: Registrar of CSU Caleb Westberg in an affidavit.
“Don’t be deceived by the propaganda in the social media space.”

However, a stakeholder in the polity argued:

“The question is whether the diploma provided to Bola Tinubu or the certified copy from the institution is same with what Tinubu submitted to INEC ?

“The school clearly said under oath it did not provide the version submitted to INEC by Tinubu and therefore cannot certify it.
“So, what are we talking about ?

“Yes, we know Tinubu is well educated, but he clearly submitted a certificate to INEC that was not in any way issued or certified by that school.

“But certificate can be educational, health, marriage, etc ….so, section 137(1j) is about forged certificate not about minimum education requirements.”
