President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Wednesday for a private visit to Paris, France, before traveling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the African Union (AU) Summit.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that during his time in Paris, President Tinubu is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The two leaders are expected to discuss various diplomatic and bilateral issues, strengthening the ties between Nigeria and France.

“While in France, President Tinubu will engage with President Macron on a range of issues of mutual interest, including economic collaboration and security,” Onanuga noted.

Following his visit to France, the president will proceed to Addis Ababa, where he will join other African leaders at the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the AU Heads of State Assembly.

These critical sessions will take place from February 12 to 16, 2025.

“The president is expected to arrive in Addis Ababa early next week in preparation for the AU summit,” Onanuga said, adding that the summit will address several key issues affecting the continent, including peace, security, and development.

This trip summit marks another important step in President Tinubu’s ongoing diplomatic engagements, aimed at advancing Nigeria’s position on the African and global stages.
