Tinubu excludes Osinbajo, Lawal, Dogara, others from Presidential campaign list
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had excluded some APC leaders who include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara; former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, etc. from the list of the party’s presidential campaign council released on Friday night.
The Presidential Campaign Council which constitutes of 422 members listed the president, serving and former governors, among others as members with assigned responsibilities for the 2023 elections campaign.
Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke, announcing the appointment of members of the council, said that Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State remains Director-General, Adams Oshiomhole, Deputy Director-General (Operations), and Bayo Onanuga, Director of Media and Publicity.
Faleke had stated: “We are pleased to announce the nominees of the leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, as per enclosed. All nominees are kindly advised to pick their appointment letters from the undersigned on Monday, 26th September 2022 at 12noon.
“The venue is Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council on Plot 781, Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Area, Abuja. All other members will be contacted by the leaders of their respective directorates.”
However, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made the list.
