Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna State in the National Assembly, has spoken out in favour of the strikes being carried out by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trades Union Congress (TUC). President Bola Tinubu, Sani pointed out, was previously a renowned protest organiser and leader in Nigeria, therefore he sees nothing wrong with these demonstrations.

Sani claims that prominent politicians like Tinubu regularly take to the streets to demonstrate against policies they find objectionable. He thinks it’s time for Tinubu’s government to face the facts after months of protests against its policies.

Senator Shehu Sani admitted in an interview that he has taken part in demonstrations in the past. He notes that protesting is becoming a common way for politicians to air their grievances and worries to the public. The effects of these protests are now apparently being felt by Tinubu’s government.

Shehu Sani remarked in part, “Tinubu was a major organiser of protests, but today, he is on the other side of the battle line.”
