As the U.S. election nears, a new national poll shows Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris by one point. The survey highlights a close race with Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%, reflecting a competitive and intensifying campaign.
In the final stretch of the U.S. presidential election campaign, Republican nominee Donald Trump holds a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new national poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College.
The survey, conducted from September 3-6, shows Trump leading Harris by a percentage point, with Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%.
The results fall within the poll’s margin of error, which is three percentage points.
The poll, which surveyed 1,695 registered voters via telephone in both English and Spanish, reveals that 56% of respondents believe Trump would be more effective in handling the economy.
This comes amid widespread dissatisfaction with the current economic conditions, with 51% of voters rating the economy as poor.
