Typhoid: Here are 7 warning signs you shouldn’t ignore
The rainy season brings with it a slew of infections and disorders, one of which is typhoid. It is caused by a bacterium that is disseminated primarily through contaminated food and water intake. The first step in prevention is to consume fresh foods and drink clean water; this is like winning half the battle. If you’re feeling under the weather, keep an eye out for these early signs of typhoid to avoid getting sick. You can also use some home remedies to treat typhoid at an early stage.
Here are some early typhoid symptoms you should be aware of.
1. Severe Fever
One of the first indicators of typhoid is an acute and persistent fever. The body’s first line of defense against harmful microorganisms is to raise its temperature. In the case of typhoid, fever is accompanied by a quick onset of chills and a rise in body temperature. Temperatures as high as 104 degrees Fahrenheit are possible. You may have typhoid if you have a high fever for longer than four days.
2. Migraine
While a headache is common, if it is accompanied by a fever, you may have typhoid. The majority of infectious infections result in both a fever and a headache. This is due to the bacteria’s preference for essential organs. You must be aware of the other typhoid risk factors.
3. Laziness
You may experience lethargy, weariness, nausea, or dizziness while your immune system is targeted by the typhoid-causing bacteria. Even if you aren’t doing any physical labor, you may feel tired. This is followed by a lack of desire to eat.
4. Appetite loss
You have typhoid if, in addition to the headache, exhaustion, and fever, you experience a decrease in your appetite. Bacteria can also affect your metabolism, causing you to lose your appetite. You might not even want to eat, let alone drink juice. It makes you feel weak and makes you feel drowsy.
5. Diarrhoea and vomiting
Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are all signs of typhoid fever. Count how many of these symptoms you are experiencing to see if you have typhoid.
6. Pain in the abdomen
7. Pink patches on your skin
If you’ve noticed pink patches on your skin that aren’t caused by a rash or an acne breakout, it could be an indication of typhoid. These are essentially sore lesions that appear when bacteria attack cells. These patches suggest the presence of a disease or bacterium in the lesions. These are seven warning indicators to look for, especially during the rainy season, as they could signify the onset of typhoid.
