UAE to service visa applications briefly for Eid Al Adha
In observance of the Eid Al Adha holiday, all immigration departments across the United Arab Emirates will be closed from Tuesday, June 4 to Saturday, June 8, 2025, according to an official announcement from UAE authorities.
This temporary suspension will affect a range of immigration services, including visa applications, permit renewals, and residency processing, causing delays that could extend beyond the holiday period.
Although border control at airports and land crossings will continue to operate, only travellers with valid visas or eligible for visa-on-arrival will be processed.
However, those with special immigration cases or needing additional screening should anticipate delays due to limited staff availability during the holiday.
Authorities are advising all travellers, residents, and applicants to expect processing slowdowns both leading up to and following the Eid Al Adha period.
A backlog of applications is likely to develop, especially when immigration offices reopen on Sunday, June 9.
To avoid disruptions, UAE residents and incoming travellers are urged to act immediately:
Complete Immigration Matters Early: Submit visa or residency applications, renewals, or amendments before June 4 to avoid potential penalties or travel issues.

Avoid Holiday Travel if Dependent on Visa Approval: Travel plans should be reconsidered if pending visa approvals are essential to entry or exit.
Check Document Validity: Ensure all visas and permits are up-to-date. Keep printed and digital copies of important immigration documents readily available during your travel.
With the upcoming closure of UAE immigration offices, early action is strongly recommended.
Whether you’re managing a visa application, extending your stay, or correcting an immigration issue, addressing these matters before the June 4 deadline can help avoid unnecessary delays, fines, or travel interruptions during and after the Eid Al Adha festivities
