UK Police hunt man suspected of killing family, fleeing to Zimbabwe

Police in the United Kingdom have launched an international manhunt for a 45-year-old man suspected of murdering his wife and two young daughters before fleeing the country.

The bodies of 42-year-old Nothabo Zandile Tshuma and her daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, were discovered inside their home in Great Denham, near Bedford, on Monday after officers forced entry into the property following concerns that the family had not been seen for several days.

According to Bedfordshire Police, the prime suspect is Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, who is believed to have left the UK through Heathrow Airport on Saturday using a British passport. Investigators say he is thought to have travelled to Zimbabwe.

Detective Inspector Lee Martin said police were working closely with national and international law enforcement agencies to trace and arrest the suspect, stressing that “criminal investigation knows no borders.”

He also appealed directly to Tshuma to surrender himself to local authorities.

Zimbabwean police confirmed they were aware of the case through media reports but said they had yet to receive a formal notification from INTERPOL. Authorities added that officers across the country had been alerted to watch for any possible sightings of the suspect.

Meanwhile, tributes have continued to pour in for the two girls from their respective schools. Nala was remembered as a “ray of sunshine,” while Natalie was described as a bright, talented and vibrant teenager whose death has left classmates and teachers devastated.

Residents of Great Denham have also expressed shock over the incident, leaving flowers and messages of condolence outside the family home in what neighbours described as a peaceful and close-knit community.

Bedfordshire Police said there is currently no indication of a wider threat to the public, although patrols in the area have been increased to reassure residents as the investigation continues.

Authorities added that formal identification procedures for the victims are still ongoing.
