After grinding out a precious one point against, Cape Verde, in one of the Qualifier series played yesterday at the Telsim Balogun Stadium, Lagos Nigeria, the Nigerian Super Eagles joined other 10 countries for the play-off.

After the emergence of 10 countries from 10 different groups in the CAF Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers, 10 countries will engage in a Play-off series to determine countries that would pick the slots reserved for the continent in the Mundial next year.

For emerging Champions of Group C, the Nigeria Super Eagles will not face 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Champions as well as finalists, Algeria and Senegal when the draw for the 2022 World Cup play-off is made in December.

Following the pairing, the Gernot Rohr tutored Super Eagles team will not face the likes of Morocco and Tunisia as well.

Nevertheless, the Super Eagles could battle either Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt, Mali or Democratic Republic of Congo in the last qualifying stage.
