Why Aisha Buhari is excluded from APC presidential campaigns
Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has been subtly excluded from the presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC, about three weeks the campaign commenced.
The President’s wife has also not been active in the re-election campaigns in about two weeks after she formed a campaign council to reinforce the presidential campaign of her husband for the February 16, 2019 election.
However, there were insinuations that the president’s wife may have been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment in a hospital in Germany.
The First Lady’s media aide, Suleiman Haruna, was gathered to have defended his boss absence from the political scene with the excuse that wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, and others have been representing the First Lady at major Youth and Women campaign rallies across the country.
“Mrs Buhari delegates tasks when necessary and her absence from public events does not mean she is ill or indisposed. Her team, led by the wife of the Vice President has been representing her at campaign events and rooting for support for the president and the party. So I don’t know why people are saying she is not well because of that,” Suleiman gad said.
