Wigwe, others’ deaths caused by bad weather – US
Officials investigating a helicopter crash in the California desert that killed Nigerian banker Herbert Wigwe said conditions at the time of the accident late Friday night “suggest rain and a wintry mix.”
Access Bank, Nigeria’s biggest lender by assets, confirmed the death of its co-founder and chief executive in a statement released on Sunday.
According to the statement, “Wigwe’s helicopter crash was caused mainly due to bad weather. All 6 on the manifest were confirmed dead, including the pilot and Co-pilot.”

The statement also informed that Wigwe’s assistant pulled out of the journey and travelled by road with their luggage because of the weight.
He is said to be the only survivor, as he disembarked at the last minute.
Other sources, according to NTSB, said they were en route for the Super Bowl.
