Woman gives birth while waiting to receive delivery kit
A woman, 30 years, Hadiza Ayuba, from Madari ward, Warawa Local Government of Kano State, on Saturday delivered a baby-girl while waiting to receive a delivery kit and baby bathing set.
The items she was waiting to receive were part of the Constituency Project of the Member of the House of Representatives, representing Dawakin-Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency, Kano State, Alhaji Mustapha Bala.
Ayuba, expressing joy, said, “I thanked the Almighty Allah for the safe delivery, I delivered the baby after nine months’ pregnancy. The baby is named Fatima.”
Nurses and midwives from the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano (AKTH), at the distribution centre, counselled the women on the importance of Ante-natal and Postnatal care.
When Ayuba began to show signs of labour, other participating women informed the midwives, who quickly made arrangements and took her to a separate place at the venue where she delivered successfully.
